Jackson Scott Ian V. For some reason I really like it!!

Awhile back in a guitar rag, I saw a pic of Scott Ian holding a killer looking V. Had the look of a Gibson at first... But wait... Too pointy.....
I looked closer and saw it was a Jackson.

Now Jackson is releasing it.. What surprises me, is I normally DONT like pickguards. BUT.. IMO, the guard on this one creates a bridge between the classic Gibson V and the Jackson King V. And I like it.. Plus, it has the 24.75" scale!! Just have to wait for the cheaper models now..

Might look funky sweet with a tortoiseshell pickguard.

Although I wouldn't buy it. There's already a vintage/modern Jackson hybrid that I'd like. The Kelly Flat Top that takes some cues from the Les Paul Custom (block inlays, binding all over). I found one on Google with tortoiseshell binding, but the one I'm talking about is actually a Black Beauty style Kelly Flat Top with a multi-ply cream or white binding. Kind of like if you took a Flat Top Kelly KE1T (the Friedman signature with the TOM) and put a tuxedo on it and taught it some table manners. I saw it some years back and I still think it's one of the coolest guitars I've ever seen.

They couldn't even put an El Diablo in the bridge?

well since he had the randall ultimate nullifier built for him, scott got back to the classic jb jazz or jb 59 combo, also those v's are supposed to be the same quality as scott's custom shop jacksons, now the price... just remember that scott had made the jackson custom shop build him 5 and 6 strings guitars with a single el diablo pickup that were $8k+.......

TC, the sweetest Kelly Ive ever seen (IMO obviously) is one they did up to look like Phil Collen's old destroyer

Then there was this one that actually had the body shape of the destroyer.

Being a fan of the Destroyer back in the day, and a fan of Jackson/Charvel forever, it trips my trigger.. cept the price tag, of course...

I wanna like it but the V section looks too short.....not unlike Scott.

I do like the new Brent Hinds silverburst Epi V though.

i love the new V but Ill never afford it at that price. Hopefully a more moderate priced version comes out. :)

I dug that when I saw that recently too - was that the first time someone married the Gibson style V looks with the king V shape? Great idea IMO, but yeah, if I were to ever to that I'd go through warmoth or something and save a few grand.

I was soooooo jealous of their comic book Vs and super strats - I guess all they had to do was say "I want a judge dredd guitar" and boom, they'd have a sick perfectly airbrushed axe. That'd be a dream come true - I'd do a vault of horror or tales from the crypt one.
