Jackson USA Soloist...JB/'59 or Dime/'59?¿?

what do you think guys? the jb and dimebucker seems very similar in their eq...but i prefer ceramics, and the dime is hotter, doesn´t it?

i have already one dime on my sz (mahogany body, rosewood fingerboard) paired with a '59, and i love the tone...

so will this set fit better for metal than the "original" one?

..btw i´ll play that axe thru a dual recto, if that helps

thanks a lot

I'm a big JB fan, but I think either way that guitar is gonna shred, I'm looking to buy an Ibanez or Jackson and will definetly be using a JB in mine, but for you, you've got 2 good options...
Good Luck and Rock On :smoker:

If you prefer ceramics, why not go for a Distortion? It has the same construction as the JB except for the magnet. Trust me, they sound amazing in those guitars. I've got one in my Charvel 650xl which is just a Japanese Soloist with a rosewood fretboard instead of ebony. The tone rules.

Well, the JB/´59 set should be stock on an SL-2H, so that one you´ll already be able to try out.

The Dimebucker will sound hotter, more aggressive, a bit more scooped, and a bit less nasal in the upper mids. A bit tighter bass response, but not necessarily more.

BTW: Maybe you should wait to actually HEAR your guitar before you start deciding on new pickups. You may either:

a) like it the way it is
or
b) Decide that the change you want is a different one.

..
IF by tighter you mean more defined and a bit fatter (like I do): Custom, DD, Dimebucker, Invader ;)

ah, gotcha.. if i'm talkin tight, it's the super focused but not compressed sounding bass response, like a cut with a katana :D

i´ve actually tried one at the nearest store and was impressed with the neck, construction, etc (but thats not the story...i already knew well of the guitar specs and feel)...i knew also of the jb/59 set on the sl2h, but i think that the jb is more like "the best overall pup"...but not as focused as others for metal (like the dimebucker or duncan distortion are)...btw the guy at the store has told me that he won´t change the price if i want to change the pups, if i´m going to order the axe...
