Jagstang Wiring

Hello all!

I'm new to the exciting world of pickups and have a couple of questions that I was hoping someone would be good enough to answer.

I have a Fender Jagstang in need of a little tlc - it currently has no pickups or wiring at all..I have all the bits and a JB Humbucker and an SSL1 that I plan to install. I've found the diagram in the link below and I feel fairly confident in my soldering abilities to get them installed (famous last words!)

Anyway my questions are as follows...

The diagrams in the link seem to differ slightly on switch 2. Do you know which is correct or will both work? Its an on-off-on switch if that helps..

Secondly if I put in a push/pull volume pot to split the humbucker, will the rest of the wiring remain the same and all of the other switch combinations function the same?

I'm grateful for any help and also fell free to tell me if my pickup combo is terrible as it's not to late to change them.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Jagstang Wiring

The switches do the same thing. The single coil switch allows reversing phase relative to the humbucker, it’s just two different ways to do the same thing.

Coil split of the Humbucker on a push-pull should be independent of the rest of the wiring if done right.

Re: Jagstang Wiring

That's great thanks for your help!

So are you saying both wiring examples in the link will work?

Re: Jagstang Wiring

Both diagrams are the same. Just drawn differently. Two different "artists". ;)
