Jaguar SSS - Wiring

I routed for the single-sized middle pickup on my CIJ Jaguar.

After some thinking about it I decided to try stock CIJ pickup in the middle position to accompany the 2 Antiquity IIs I already have.

I currently have the series/parallel mod with the strangle switch (both pickup switches off = parallel).

I want to be able to switch the middle pickup on/off in place of the strangle switch, while retaining the series/parallel mod between the bridge and neck pickups.

I.e. S1 = bridge; S2 = neck; S3 = middle.

Bridge Only: S1 on, S2 off, S3 off
Neck Only: S1 off, S2 on, S3 off
B+N series: S1 on, S2 on, S3 off
B+N parallel: S1 off, S2 off, S3 off

B+M: S1 on, S2 off, S3 on
N+M: S1 off, S2 on, S2 on

All 3 pickups On does not interest me, but I suppose it would be implicit as an option.

I'm NOT interested in a blade switch. I'm willing to sacrifice the strangle switch.

Schematics?!

Thanks!

Re: Jaguar SSS - Wiring

Now I'm trying to decide where to put the Parallel/Series Mod.

Do I place it:

1. Between Bridge and Neck (normal placing), while making the Middle pickup on/off.
2. Between Middle and Neck (original idea above), while making the Bridge pickup on/off.
3. Between Bridge and Middle, while making the Neck pickup on/off.

It seems that the wiring should be simple, but I'm no pro when it comes to electronics. I bet someone with a Fender Cyclone 2 has considered similar mods.

Thoughts? Schematics?

Re: Jaguar SSS - Wiring

The nearest thing that I can think of to your wiring idea is the Dan Armstrong Super Strat circuit, originally published in the Eighties. Dan's schematic required two DPDT on/on switches and one DP3T.

Try www.jag-stang.com for Jaguar custom wiring ideas.

In your position, I would be tempted to invest in a Cobain style pickup selector switch plate and employ the Freeway 3x3-03 toggle type selector switch.

Re: Jaguar SSS - Wiring

That Dan Armstrong Super-Strat circuit is actually a really good idea. Unfortunately the Mustang 3-position switches don't fit in the control plate.

Are there any 3-position DP3T switches that would a Jaguar control plate without alterations?
