Jazz + Alnico II mag= APH?

Has anyone tried this? Will changing the Jazz's Alnico V mag for an Alnico II unit turn it into an APH? Thanks for the replies, :burnout: everybody.

I have yet to try it but, I heard it is true. I would not doubt it.

Not true...it'll get you in the ballpark, but they're not the same thing. I have an alnico 3 magnet in a Jazz neck, I would say it's about halfway between the Alnico 2 Pro and the Pearly Gates in terms of the EQ.
