Jazz/Hot rails with 250k pot

So I know the JB is believed to be best used with 250k pots, but most other HB's are favored with 500k pots. In my new standard tele I am going to install a hot rails in the bridge and a SH-2Jazz in the neck(got the custom pickguard for it) but it just so happens my Standard Tele has 250k pots. Will this be a problem? Has anyone used the Tele hot rails, or SH-2Jazz with a 250k pot?? Will switching pots be a definite must? Feedback por favor

Well, just use a 500K pot anyway. The tonal difference isn't that large.

Re: Jazz/Hot rails with 250k pot

I put a hot rails in the bridge of my USA standard Strat, and changed the volume pot to 500k at the same time - rails sounded awesome, standard pups sounded like poo - thin and scrathy, not much bottom end.

The solution? I whacked a 750K resistor in parallel across the volume pot to turn it into a ~300K pot. Result - S/Cs sound ballsy again, and rails keep screamin!
