Jazz in the Bridge Position?

I have been playing single coils exclusively for about ten years, but I recently bought a strat body with the idea of doing a dual humbucker guitar. So the new guitar is alder/rosewood and the only humbuckers I had lying around were from back in my heavy music days - the ol' Jazz/JB combo. In the love/hate relationship that prevails with the JB, I have found that I am definitely not in the love camp. The Jazz, on the other hand, I have found to be really fantastic - very clean and clear and tight with single coil-ish bell-like tones, but with girth and a nice compression. And great string to string and note definition, even under mid and pretty heavy gain. I can see how some might call it 'sterile', but I feel that is because the bass is so tight that there is just no flub or flab at all.
At first I just kind of assumed that I would put a 59 in the bridge, but I am now wondering what a Jazz in the bridge sounds like. I would love to get some feedback on a Jazz in the bridge position.
And, I guess I should add that I am doing sparkly cleans, mid-gains, and hard rock distortion.
Any input would be much appreciated.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head with that description, and that's how the Jazz Bridge Model is.

I absolutely love the Jazz Bridge Model. It's probably my favorite pickup. However, I play it in Les Pauls, and I play heavy rock. I can't really speak for how it would be in a Strat, so I don't want to give you any bad advice.

You did kind of lose me on your question however. Are you wanting to buy a Jazz Bridge Model and install it in the bridge, or are you wanting to put your Jazz Neck Model in the bridge slot?

I use a Jazz bridge in my 12 string and it's the perfect choice for sweet, chimey cleans.
It has a tiny touch of snarl compared to the buttery Jazz neck model.

Thanks Jolly. Nice playing and range of tones!
The JazzN is staying where it is! So I guess what I am really asking is: what are the differences between the JazzB and the 59B?

I've used the Jazz Bridge in a strat, and it sounds great....like it was made for it. It's nicely calibrated in feel and tone, to match up with vintage single coils, and also your Jazz Neck.

The 59B has a nice tone, and about the same output, but it's not as percussive and tight as the Jazz Bridge. The 59B is a little softer on the attack.....making it better for a LP or PRS. The Jazz Bridge's punch makes up for the plastic pickguard it's mounted in.

Another option (if you try the Jazz and need just a little more heat) would be the Demon. Take the Jazz, pump up the output a notch, warm up the highs a bit, and you've got the Demon.
