Jazz Neck Tip?

I've got a Jazz in the neck of my guitar, wish it was a little brighter. Any helpful tips/tricks to help? Capacitor?

Going to a smaller cap is the most conservative thing you can do to brighten it up. Maybe a 15nf. You can also disconnect the tone or turn it into a no load tone. You can also turn the pickup around and/or raise the screws. Or you can go to a higher value volume pot.

Put a .047 cap BETWEEN the pickup and the switch or pot, depending on your setup. When it’s in series like that instead of connected to ground it cuts lows. I just tried this mod a couple of weeks ago with two guitars that had dark neck pickups and WOW what a difference!

Turn p'up 180 degrees, lower p'up a little, raise screw poles up, smaller value cap.
Leave nickel cover on in this case. Don't use chrome covers ever, they really mess with sound. Go nickel, or go cover-less.
Jazz p'ups are great p'ups.
