Jazz vs 59 neck

I realize this question has been asked before; I've read multiple threads. I have a few guitar specific questions.

I have a G&L Bluesboy tele, swamp ash solidbody, maple/rosewood neck. Right now it has a Jazz in the neck, with a hot tele single coil bridge. I'm thinking of putting in a Lil 59 Tele bridge and 500k pots(has 250k now), new cap. At first i thought Lil59 + big 59, but now im thinking of just leaving the Jazz. Which puckup(Jazz or 59) do you think would be best in my guitar? And which matches better with the Lil59 bridge? Will the Jazz be too bright with 500k pots? I chose it because I was gonna use 250k and it's bright. The Bluesboy has a 200pf vol/treble cap I co7ld remove. Thx, Ben

Re: Jazz vs 59 neck

Safe bet is to try it first. If you don't like it, you can always change it later.

Re: Jazz vs 59 neck

I would guess most people run the Jazz with 500k pots. Yes its bright, but compared to a tele bridge...
I haven't used the Lil59, but the regular 59 bridge sounds great with the Jazz neck, so I don't see why it wouldn't work here. It just depends on what you want out of your neck. I tend to like brighter neck pickups, although the Jazz is not my favorite.

Re: Jazz vs 59 neck

The bridge now is a Cavalier Fat Lion, a 9.5k big, meaty single coil. Not the normal bright twangy tele bridge. It mates perfectly with the Jazz outputwise. But the Lil 59, on paper is considerably hotter.
