Hi, this might be a silly question:
I'm always searching for a nice sound, currently i'm playing with the idea of 'jazzing up' one of my acoustic guitars with a jazzpickup (and maybe even electric flatwound strings or so...)
I experimented with a dean markley pro mag magnetic pickup (single coil) on my gibson flattop with normal 012 phosphor bronze strings. I was intrigued by the slight 'jazzy' sound that came out of it. Of course it could be a lot (!!!) better.
Do you think i can jazz it up more using another pickup? Maybe a floating benedetto? Or wouldn't that work on an acoustic?
I have a gibson flattop (good action), a small 3/4 (an ibanez daytripper) which sounds amazingly great, and a cheap ovation copy.
Any string limitations?
Any ideas or comments?
Thanks,
Tom
