Jazzmaster from scratch

Hello, I am planning to make my first electric guitar.
I have the Jazzmaster figure in mind with lipstick pickups.

1) What are the dimensions of the Jazzmaster body? I have a diagram - http://www.mrgearhead.net/faq/pdf/diagrams/AV62JAZZMSTR/SD0100800APg1.pdf

I plan to use poplar wood.

2) Is there a site that offers costumized pickguards, specifically in the tortoise colour - need it because of the lipstick pickups

3) If not does pickguard material come with shielded coating, and do I need to shield all the cavities too? As well what material do I use to shield the cavities with?
If I use plastic shielded wire do I even need to shield anything?

4) Will sd lipstick pickups work with jazzmaster equipment?

Thank You

Re: Jazzmaster from scratch

I'd shield the back of the pickguard and the cavities with copper or aluminum foil. Just use spray adhesive and glue it down.
