I bought a set of Jazzmaster Antiquity II's for my Mascis JM, and I really like the neck pickup -- it's just about perfect. I'm not liking the bridge pickup so much, though. It's very bright, and thinner-sounding than I'd like. Every time I change from neck to bridge, I'm having to fiddle with the tone control, and even doing so, I'd still like to get a little more oomph from the bridge.
After listening to some clips, I'm liking the idea of the Jazzmaster Hot Bridge. It's still Jazzmaster-ish, but with more grunt and less bright. It might be a great match for the Antiquity II in the neck.
I'd like to keep the hum-cancelling in the middle position, though. On the Antiquity II set, the neck pickup magnets are oriented North up, and the bridge pickup magnets at South up. Will this be the same on the JM Hot Bridge? I couldn't find any info about this anywhere, so I'm wondering if anyone here knows?
It would be really slick if N up were consistent across all Duncan single coil neck models, and S up for all bridge models. But I'm not sure if that's the case.
Thanks
