JB and ’59 alternatives?

And....from DiMarzio:

Since 70/80 rock/metal, you have to try

Distortion Bridge
PAF Pro neck

(I'd go PAF neck, but PAF is a 59 pretty much)

I recently picked up a DMZ Transition bridge. Really digging it, high output PAF (another PAF on steroids?), great harmonics, and work very well with the volume control.

I was going to suggest the PG neck with Custom Custom, but considered it to close to 59.

Naw, as a pair they match perfectly well. They blend nicely too, both full and split coils.

I find the PGn to have much better cut than the 59n.

59n is a fatter warmer sounding pickup compared to the JAZZ.
The JAZZ has a more shimmering single coil-esq clean tone and defined singing lead tone.
IMO the 59 has more of the thick woody neck tone that I would expect from a pup called the JAZZ :D
