JB Jr. & Fat 50's??

I'm loving my Fat 50's in my SRV strat, however I would like to get some more beef out of the bridge. Would a JB jr. be too much for the middle and neck??

Thanks,
Kevin

It'd be just fine.

But I'd go for an Antiquity Texas Hot Custom myself. Or an Antiquity Surfer Custom. Or a Fralin Steel Pole 43. Lew

I had that exact same pick arrangement in one of my strats....The fat 50s are nice pickups,but...The JB Jr..just doesn't do the nice chimey, clean Fender thang, and you can not get a proper 4th position tone...

Trust Lew and myself on this....Get the Fralin Steel Pole 43 bridge pickup...This pickup gives you a very ballsy, but articulated bridge tone that is real close to what a Gibson P90 is capable of doing...I also love the Texas Hot(This would be my second choice)and the Surfer, but if you're leaning towards a JB....Go with the Fralin from lew....I played this strat the other night again that has this SP 43 again and I'm always wowed and amazed with this pickup!

You get fat bridge tone but yet you can still get a nice clean strat tone and a very convincing bridge/middle tone....It solved all of my JB Jr..problems as I prefer single coil pickups in my strats overall.

Lew will take care of you on one....Trust me on this one!

Thanks guys. I was kind of afraid of the answer.......the only reason is that I have a JB jr. now and didn't want to buy another PU. Oh well. I got it for $40 so I picked it up since I thought that was a pretty good deal. Maybe I'll unload it and pick up a 43 from Lew. Thanks again guys!!

See here's the thing with the SP43....It's still a single coil so you can always get that single coil clean vibe from it...You also get ballsy lead and rhythm tones that rival a standard output humbucker but you retain note clarity because you're still using a single coil pickup...This pickup totally solved the problem I had,in that I didn't want a fullsized humbucker in this strat because it would entail another pickguard...And I still have a tone close to the humbucker but I also have the chimey strat tones we all love about a strat..It's a real problem solver and a great sounding pickup...Sell that JB Jr..and have Lew send you the SP43....You won't be sorry..

Cool.......although here's another idea.....get another strat and make it more of a rocker with the Jr.!! Can't have enough strats!!

True....I Own like 6 strats and only one currently has a fullsized bridge humbucker...I prefer to play my les paul or sg if I need humbucking tone....Guess which guitars get the most play?

My strats with all single coils....(I need note clarity)
