Jb Jr Neck in bridge position on a strat body

Re: Jb Jr Neck in bridge position on a strat body

Had a JBjr bridge in bridge and it was way too brittle and harsh for my amp! Been thinking of putting it in neck instead, maybe that will work. I assume the neck JBjr has even more highs, no way that would work for me, but maybe it'll work for you, but I doubt it!

What kind of amp were u playing it thru? I'm playing a Mesa Stilletto 50 Watter and its Tone controls are awesome. I can dial in or out just about anything but dont want to have to get RADICAL cuz I switch Axes between sets.

Re: Jb Jr Neck in bridge position on a strat body

I liked the JB JR. neck model as a bridge pickup better than the bridge model I'd used previously in my Strat with a neck and middle Duncan SSL-1. Blended better with the bright SSL-1 single coils.

Of course, I didn't "slam" it into my guitar. :smack: I installed it carefully and precisely and took a lot of time adjusting the overall height and the polepieces.

ive installed one in a friends '73 strat with the stock single coils and with some adjusting it ended up being a great match. fatter and ballsier than the single coils but not a massive change. very musical
