After changing a few pups around, I put my JB Jr. neck model in the bridge of my warmoth strat and I have found some serious tone! It's such a great bridge pup that I've almost completely fell out of love with my C-5. So, I'm wanting some opinions on what full size humbucker I should get that could get close to the Jb Jr (rember it's the neck model) in the bridge.
The Jb Jr. (N) is more what I want. To be honest, I really can't put it in words. It's just more 'pop' sounding. It has less 'attack' and more difinition than the c-5 and less muddy. It just sounds sweet.
There are a few difference in the guitars-
the guitar with the C-5 is a MIA strat, alder, rosewood board, 250K pots.
The guitar with the JB Jr. is basswood (I think, it could be alder), maple neck, 500K pots.
I'm wanting to get a similar tone from the JB Jr. The C-5 has too much lows, not enough mids, and almost ice-picky highs.
So, should I go for a magnet swap of the C-5? Just get a JB (and the 250k post will get it closer to the JB Jr.n)? Get another pup altogether?
As always, thanks in advance for your knowledge and time.
