JB JR noise problem?

So I got one of the 920D Everything Axe set with the two toggles (coil splitting, neck always on) a few months back. Love the thing.
However, yesterday noticed that the JB JR in the neck started getting a fairly noisy 60 cycle hum. The Lil' 59 neck did as well but not nearly as bad. Duckbucker mid is quite and any combination of PU selector, hum goes away. An ideas? Is there a quick easy fix for this?

If you're getting 60 cycle hum it means the humbuckers are in single coil mode. It's possible that the wires, particularly the series link, came loose inside and causing it to no longer be operating as humbuckers properly.

Played around with it some more this morning and it turns out the Lil 59 neck is the problem. It won't coil split. The JB JR and duckbucker work fine. Interesting that the hum is coming through the JB JR in the bridge most noticeably.

Tap both coils with a screwdriver (lightly) while plugged in (one at a time). Make sure both coils are working. This will help you know where to look. It also always helps if you post some pics of your wiring. The JB Jr should be really quiet.

That's how I found it to be the Lil 59. The rear (bridge side) isn't working. The front is live. Sigler (920D) responded quickly. First though was a short in the toggle switch, but after looking at pictures thought everything looked good. The are taking it back to figure out what happened.

Try wiring it directly to the jack (or using a meter) to confirm both coils are working, then look at the rest of the wiring. If it turns out to be the wiring, some pics posted here may help us diagnose what is going on.

Re: JB JR noise problem?

Sigler looked at the wiring picture and said it liked good. Again he thinks it may be a short in the toggle switch (or possibly a bad PU). It's on it's way back, so Sigler can figure it out.
