JB or Breed for HSH Am Std Strat?

I'm putting together an HSH Am Std Strat...if I don't go with Bare Knuckles, I'll probably fit CC/SSL-6/PGn (unless anybody has any better ideas?)... At the moment, it has Lil'59/orig. Fender/Lil'59, but that's all gonna go. For now, while I'm still experimenting with different wiring/switchng combos, I want to temporarily fit a full-size HB in the bridge, and I've got two lying around here: a JB and a DMZ Breed.

The JB came to me fitted in the bridge slot of my LP, and I hated it in there (the usual culprits: boomy bass, high-mid spike, and FAR too compressed for my tastes), but I've heard they work well in the majority of Strats. I haven't tried the Breed in anything yet.

The Strat is alder-bodied, with a one-piece maple neck. It has the standard tremolo (locked down at the moment, but I may replace it with a Wilkinson in the future). I'm looking for the usual, impossible result: an LP vibe from a long-scale, bolt-on alder/maple guitar. Which of these two would you recommend, and (more to the point) how would they differ? If I like either, I'll keep it in there and forget about the CC.

The ability of the pickup to split well would be a distinct advantage, partly with the middle pup for the Strat-in-pos#4 sound, and partly for a good single-coil bridge tone (I have a Godin LGX with a CC which is pretty good at a faux-Tele tone when split). In series HB mode, I suppose I'm looking for classic rock tones (Free, AC/DC, ZZ Top, VH, G'n'R) and slightly more modern stuff (Sum41, Green Day, Blink 182, RATM - yeah, I pay the bills working in a cheesy covers band!).

I'd try the Breed first. The JB may to too bright in that guitar for what you're going for tonewise.

i am not shaw if i qualify but i had a breed neck in the neck & liked it a lot full bodied & warm with just enough high to articulate a bluesy solo . you may find it darker than the JB but more level & i know what you mean about the JB being too rounded but lots of people swear by them & they are nice if that vintage sound but hotter is what you want . the breed has big mid & bottom end that will drive your AMP in OD but clean i think it will sound muddy. if you don't have to buy them try them both & tell us all how you go!!
