jb question

how the sound put jb in the neck? (basswood guitar 24 fret, rg replica)
any review or testimoni?
i wanna mod the jb using allen for the standard pole.(didn't know to name).
is't will change the sound?

1) JB is an overwound bridge PU, not intended for the neck. There's a reason for this.

2) Are you sure you want to use a JB? JB's in the bridge position have been described in this forum as having an "unpleasant icepick tone" and "sounding like a dentist drill." I've tried them in several guitars & they all sounded terrible. Are you sure this is the PU you want to use? If you're a die hard metal head, you can hide the JB's tone under mounds of distortion. Seymour says it sounds better with an A2 magnet to take off the shrill tone. An A4 or A3 would also improve it. Or you could use 250K pots, which was the original spec'd pots. but then, if you're after a harsh, nasty tone, maybe you won't have to change a thing.
