JB Split

I wanted to post this just in case anyone wanted to use the JB split and wondered how it sounded. This is something I recorded a while back (JB installed in my Ibanez, which is maple bodied). Hope you like it.

Re: JB Split

I love split JB , i have one in my hohner and its amazing
Rock On!

Re: JB Split

That sounds nice! Very lush... I don't think it would do Deep Purple too good though, wouldn't it? It sounds like it lacks a bit of meat.

I think that for that we have full JB, IMHO split JB blends really nicely with ssl-1 pups.
And that is i love JB for. When full - its growly and meaty , when split - clean and clear.

I'm not complaining. :D

It's a soft maple bodied guitar, which I think is the problem, overall. It has a CC in it now and now it's got a nasty mushy bottom end.

Re: JB Split

I like that tone, and the reverb sounds great too. I have a JB in my #1 Strat that I ran split for a while. I now have a series/parallel switch instead. I enjoy the parallel tone just as much, but it has a touch more low end and of course no hum.

Now that's tempting...

Any way I can add a series-parallel swtich without altering the look of the guitar? Like a push-pull pot? I think miniswitches and stuff look a bit goofy. :blackeye:
