JB vs DD (or other alternatives)

Hi everyone!

I'm currently looking to put a new bridge pickup in my Washburn RS-980 (Ibanez RG style guitar). The styles I will use the guitar for is mainly metal like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Dream Theater. I will use it to play both rhythm and leads. I also have a Fender fat strat to cover Pink Floyd, Rush, and other more bluesy, more old school bands. I have heard good things about the JB model, as it is very versatile. However, I'm not sure if it will provide me with all the balls I want. From listening to the pickups on the SD page, the DD sounds more like my thing. However, looking at the tone charts, it has an awful lot of treble. Would the PATB-2 be a good option? Is it even in the same price range as the JB and the DD?

As you may notice, I'm not very experienced with pickups as I have never bought new ones before. Therefore, I would be thankful if you guys could provide me with some tips and useful information on this matter!

Re: JB vs DD (or other alternatives)

I like high output pickups but often I find the treble frequencies too fuzzy. Something you can do if the DD is too hairy for you is put a small resistor like 5k on your hot lead. It won't be as hairy. It will be more round and chunky.
