JB with Alnico 2 or 3

Has anyone ever put an Alnico 2 or 3 in a JB? I'm attracted to the sound signature of the JB, with a lot of harmonics, but not TOO hot, and I'd like to try and see if I could tame the highs and get the mids sweeter and less harsh with an Alnico 3.

Anyone ever tried this? Is it worth it? Probably will get a standard JB before I go about wrecking a JBJ that way.
