JB2 / 59 a2 Rocks in a PRS!!!

Just wanted to throw a thanks to all those who recommended/taught how to change magnets. Today I changed both JB and 59 with alnico 2s and put them in a PRS S2 Custom 24 and the result was quite a ear opener. I've never thought they can be that much different than the stocks, I much prefer them with alnico 2s ! I have tried 5 sets of pickups before this and it's save to say this one will stay the longest.

People who likes gritty, raw blues, classic rock, fusion, to stoner metal should give it a try. Rock on! :headbang::headbang::headbang:

Good to know. I always wanted to try to do that combination.

I really like JB2's. Great PU (at least from a blues/classic rock perspective). Fixes the mahogany 'ice pick spike' and scooped mids issues.

I was pretty much gave up on the JB: tried it in all sorts of guitar, each felt like a gamble, but none really worked out.

In contrast, I've tried many sets of pickups on the PRS, none stood out. I usually like them in other guitars. Just goes to say how unpredictable pickups swap are, and I love it! Already itching for the next magnet swap project. :D

I would have expected the JB2 to sound very thin, but with hot, squashy, icepick mids. The fact that it fixes the mid spike surprises me. How does it sound?
