JBsh4 in a hollowbody es335?

Yay or nay for a JB in the bridge of a hollowbody guitar?

I was thinking it might be too bright, and have no depth. Could I get away with just 250k pots and the JB? If not what would you guys recommend?

High output HBs in semi-solid electric guitars are a recipe for feedback.

If you wish to retain some semblance of the typical Gibson semi-solid tones, go no hotter than a Screamin' Demon. My personal favourite is the Brobucker. I have this on my Epiphone B. B. King Lucille model semi.

I had one in an Ibanez Artist 335 type.
It was too "Woofy" in the midrange for my tastes.
I just didn't work as well as they do in solidbodies.

ye i wouldn't put a jb in a hollowbody. a 335 though is a semi hollowbody. there shouldn't be as much feedback issues compared to a full hollowbody but i'd still opt for something more "vintage". 59's are my favourite in a 335.

Compared to a '59, the Demon is very meaty. The JB has more mids than the Demon, but they are high mids which only add some to the meatiness. The mids in the Demon are lower mids which make a bigger difference to the thickness.

The Demon doesn't sound as thin and bright as a '59, Jazz, or JB. Sounds more like the Pearly Gates.

JB + hollowbody = annoying noises, similar to, but distinctly different than music.
