Re: JCM 800 question

Depends on what kind of 800 it is. There are single channel ones and 2 channel ones, you need more info... I would think that if the amp is supplied, it would have a footswitch if it needed it.

Re: JCM 800 question

Thanks guys this place has a 10 minute breakdown time and I would love to just bring guitar + a couple pedals (including my O.D. Pedal)

Re: JCM 800 question

JCM800 is a series of amp. There are several different models within that series. More info is definitely needed.

Bring the OD pedal just in case.

Re: JCM 800 question

I would try playing thru one first at a local music shop, the 800s do the LOUD CRUNCH thing really well, but they don't really start to growl til ya hit 4 on the master, which will be really frickin loud.. so be prepared to use your guitar's Vol knob to play clean, and bring your O.D./EQ for sure for leads/higher gain

Re: JCM 800 question

I hate places that barely give you anytime to setup and breakdown and on top of that make you use their amp. You might like wanting to use the JCM 800 but when I had my band we used to play this one venue all the time and I'd always tell the guy in charge to go F%$K himself whenever he said I had to use the supplied Peavy 6505 and that we had 5 minutes to setup and breakdown. Places like that clearly are not run by true musicians IMO. If the people running those places ever gigged before then they would know better to do that sort of thing.

But anyways.. If its a JCM 800 2203 or 2204 then it is a single channel amp. If its a 2205 or 2210 then its one of the channel switching JCM 800s.

Re: JCM 800 question

If it is 1 of the twin channel models you CAN'T change channels on the amp itself, you need a footswitch to do that.

If you don't have a footswitch, they usually just stay on the OD channel, which may or may not be of any use to you :D

Re: JCM 800 question

Well after rehearsal last night I decided to bring my own rig and just use their 4x12 on the stage. I don't want any distractions on this gig its an important one.

Thanks for all the help
