i found one used, for about 600 bucks. I played it for about an hour and really enjoyed it, i put some money down to save it too. Anybody played one of these and or own one? thanks.

I've played several of them, and despite the bad rap they get from alot of guys I like them...IMO they are the best things Marshall has done in years. My only real complaint with them is that the bottom can get a tad flabby in high gain settings. They are cool amps and that is a good price! Let us know what you think about it!

I own a DSL50, and I even need an attenuator. The JCM2000s are perfect for me because I desired a great deal of versatility through my amp. The cleans are surprisingly useful coming from a Marshall (definatly NOT Fender clean, but clean and usable nonetheless). The high gains are fairly close to classic Marshall distortion, and my only complaint of the high gain channel is the "ultra" gain setting, which I find too gritty, but is probably useful to a metal head.
$600 used isn't a bad deal, especially if it's in decent shape. What would suck would be dropping $600 on it and then realizing that a tube change is necessary.

I don't like the "ultra" setting or whatever the highest gain channel is... The regular distortion is alright, but I felt there was something just not there for my sound. The cleans were surprisingly quite nice though... This was going : my guitar -> amp - no pedals. Probably if I'd had a pedal to play about with I'd get the gain channel sounding more the way I want it but I want to be able to just plug in and be satisfied with the base tone, before I think about buying other stuff
