JCM600

Awesome amp. Unfortunately, my buddy got one used that was a lemon. It sounded great for 3 months then it started blowing fuses. He gets maybe a week out of the amp before a fuse blows again. It has been to 3 of the best techs in the area and no one can figure out what is wrong with it. The thing has been collecting dust in his basement for 10 years.
 
Great sounding amps but had reliability issues. The problem is heat and how the power tubes are mounted it cooks the PC board the power tubes mount to. Make sure you have proper air flow and might want to look at adding a fan.
 
I have literally never heard of this amp before. Google shows it's 60 watts, is it just a lower power 800?
 
I'd never heard of it either, till I saw it for sale on Sweetwaters Gear Exchange. Did some research and pulled the trigger. Ascension, I already ordered an ac powered pc cooling fan from amazon.
 
So, when I get home from work tomorrow, my amp will(should) be here. The link I posted above gives a little info about the JCM600 series. From what little info I can find, from other forums, and the limited number of youtube videos, this thing should let me get some awesome 80's hairmetal/shred tones. As well as some good plexi like tones for hard/classic rock. Exactly what I'm wanting from an amp!!! I can't wait!!!
 
its a cool marshall amp! it wont sounds like a plexi, but it might get you the 80s hair metal tones? regardless, im sure youll enjoy it
 
It is. I think it was just sitting somewhere collecting dust. Kudos to Jeffs Music Gear and Sweetwater techs for the thorough cleaning and inspection.
