Jet City Footswitch Problems?

Have any of you Jet City amp owners, particularly JCA22H owners, had any problems with your footswitch shorting out at the jack?

My JCA22H arrived today and the first thing I noted was the footswitch wouldn't work. Went to unplug it and the switch came on. So I pulled the plug and unscrewed the barrel and there was a sharp peak of solder sticking up through the plastic sleeve surrounding the solder joints. I filed the solder to a smoother surface, slipped the sleeve back up...but likely not far enough, screwed it back together, plugged it back in and it shorted again. Pulled it apart again, shoved the sleeve up as far as it would go, put it back together and for now it's holding. It seems as if the inside diameter of jack's housing is just too small...or the connections inside too large...so I'm wondering if this issue is being seen by other owners or if I just got unlucky. Thanks -Rod-

Re: Jet City Footswitch Problems?

I haven't had any problems with mine in the past two-ish years.

Try reflowing the solder on those connections, and if you feel like it, open up the footswitch and check if those are ok too. Should be fairly simple.

Thanks will give it a look. I may just bend the prong in a little bit and that should solve it. Seems they suspected or knew a problem was there given the spring adding tension to the cable. -Rod-
