hey guys, i know ive seen this guitar before, i think it's cool, but does anyone know how it's done? i want to get my girlfriend on my axe. just kidding, but i thought it was neat. im guessing some kind of print like epiphone uses on some of their guitar quilt patterns (like a large sticker) and then apply the guitars finish over it.

Re: Joe Perry's Lucille custom

Joe Perry's wife had the Gibson Custom Shop make that for him. I'm pretty sure she had them airbrush that pic of her on it.

Re: Joe Perry's Lucille custom

Yep, I've read that it was airbrushed. Now you just got to find yourself someone whose killer with a airbrush ;)

Re: Joe Perry's Lucille custom

I think there's a full bodyshot of her in a red dress airbrushed on the back too. That's a sweet guitar.

Re: Joe Perry's Lucille custom

screw the guitar
get me the wife !
j/k ;o
having both wives at your control... tempting... joe perry is smart

Re: Joe Perry's Lucille custom

Gee, I thought it was "Done with Mirrors" :joke:
Ya know. Not alot of people know about that album/CD. It was their supposed comeback/ half ass sober album and happens to be one of my all time favorites by them. I love Joe Perry's "Let The Music Do The Talkin" as well as the rest of the bands "Darkness", "Shelia", "Gypsy Boots", "She's On Fire". and "My Fist Your Face". When I started playing in a band years ago when I was 18 or so, a couple of years later that CD/ album came out. I made sure we played My fist ur face and gypsy boots. ....Totally jammin album man!! One of the most underrated ever!! I think I'll listen to some now.:)

I second the Airbrush. A good artist can do amazing things! I've seen this guitar live!

Re: Joe Perry's Lucille custom

on the other hand, if you remove the clearcoat (or before you put it on) and apply a good quality sticker, then clearcoat over that it should work well also. Not as good as airbrush, but.......

Here is a shot I took of Billie in November of 2005 in Columbus, Ohio.

Airbrushed photo. The one on the back is a full length shot of the one on the front. I'm sure I have newer and older shots it was the first one I found. BTW, it says Billie on the headstock. She also helped design the Boneyard LP for Joe as a present then Gibber talked JOe into doing a run of them.
