Anyone have any experiences? I hard rock like GNR,Metallica some new tones Led Zeppelin tones. Hows this gonna work for that. I also have a les paul with an alnico pro and DD. and a Fender tele with a 59 and pearly gates.

Also right now i have no cabnet. i dont want to risk hooking it up to my little peavy amp cuz im afraid itll damage it? is that so? if so ill use this old speaker of mine till i get a marshall cabnet

It is a great versitile marshall. Will do classic stuff and high gain really well. I wish I still had mine for the good clean soundl. I advise getting V30's as speakers, try avatar. They will make that dsl more versitile and musical. Good purchase.

Don't know much about the DSL, but if it's a tube amp you will want to be sure to match speaker impedance (ohms) to your output impedance, or you can damage your amp.

JM's right. The JCM has the option on the back panel to set the impedence for 2, 4, and 8 ohm settings. Your speaker on your little amp probably has an 8ohm impedence and will say so on the speaker's label. A 10" speaker is pretty small for that many watts, tho. You could easily blow that puppy up if you try to play your Marshall through it. You need at least a two-speaker cab loaded with 12's to do that amp justice, if not a 4 x 12. I also agree with using Celestion V30's for best all-around Marshall sound. I have a JCM2000 50 watt DSL amp and I use a 2-speaker cab with the V30's in it and it sounds great. I don't use the gain channels on it at all as I have good pedals for that.
I hope you have a big space to play that 100 watt honker in, 'cause that's a lot of mojo to unleash!

Nice amp. I'll second Reckless Abandon; check out Avatar. Great spkr and cab options at great prices! I have found the staff there to be very helpful.

BTW what should i have the OHM's set as for a custom amp? 8 OMH stereo?

Re: Just Bought Myself a JCM 200 DSL 100 Dual Lead

I think Marshalls look best as a matching set, so the 1960AV w/4 Vin 30's is the ideal cab. Most of them out there are regular 1960A's w G75T's. which have a little more sizzle in the highs.

While you're saving up, place a 'Marshall 4-12 Wanted' ad in a local music paper.
There's tons of players with those things in their closets, who have no use for them anymore, and you'll get a few people calling up trying sell theirs. You should be able to find one for about $400-$450. You'd be looking for JCM800 and 900 1960A's or AV's.

Awesome amp! Almost also bought the 50 watt version several years ago when it came out,but opted then for the Mesa Trem o Verb head which I sold anyway....Behind me is that A/V V30 4x12 that GJ is speaking about...Pricey these days, but a great cab....I bought mine when it came out and payed like $650 for it new...It's like $850 or higher now!
