Just found an old Invader in the car...

I was cleaning out the car today and found an old 2 conductor Invader my friend and I pulled out of a guitar years ago. I know the other pickup in the set was taken apart and was basically destroyed but this one might just work. Is there any way to check without popping it into a body?

if you've got a digital volt meter (DVM), then all you have to do is set it to about 200K ohms, hook the red wire up to the hot wire and the black wire up to the ground/sheild wire. if you get a 1, that means that there's a break in the windings, and no signal is getting through. If you get a 0, that means that there's a short in the pickup, so the pickup isnt really picking up anything. If you get somewhere around 16.8K, it should be fine.
