Just HOW Broken is this???

I was swapping out pickups while doing a new Gilmour Strat Mod and noticed this little-itty-bitty wire is broken. Am I screwed? :reporter: :banghead:

do you still have continuity in the coil? if so then you are fine. if not, is that the start or the finish wire? if its the finish wire you should be able to, super freakin carefully, unwind one turn from the bobbin and resolder it in the eyelet. if its the start wire...

I'll reply more tomorrow when I get back to the office. How can I determine if it's the start or finish?

Is that the tail under the solder joint, (not broken), or the piece that runs from solder joint to coil (busted)?

Can you see the other piece it broke off from?

I wouldn't say you're screwed. Those Wilkinson pickups are quite cheap.

The pickup was mounted when I noticed the winding was broken. (I couldn't see this side.) I just took it off to see this side and it SEEMS to be still intact! (I haven't yet checked for continuity.) Is it possible Winkinson just loops it through before they solder it for extra strength?

Yeah they just loop it thru the hole and drop a solder blob on it. The rest is just a stray tail.

I DID get a chance to test everything out once the guitar was back together and everything works fine! I'm closing this thread. THANKS everyone!
