OOOOOOHHHHHHHH :32:

If ya' don't mind me asking...How much?

Did you get the Edana with KTs or ELs ?

OH...and you realize JJ 12AX7s just won't do. Gotta get some Mullards now :D

Re: Just nailed down some Genalex gray glass

$150 on ebay. One is branded Brimar, but it looks exactly the same as the Genalex sitting right next to it. Did genalex do any for brimar? Looks that way at least...

Re: Just nailed down some Genalex gray glass

Slightly used, but test very well. I'm not sure they are matched as it doesn't say. If they are too out of spec, I'll just have to keep swinging or find a mate to one of them some other way. They are being sold as a set.

Re: Just nailed down some Genalex gray glass

Most power tubes age at a different rate. Start with two matched tubes and in a few months check them again. One is like to be off. It shouldn't hurt your tone too much.

I got my old Pro Reverb that had this old set of RCA 6L6GC's in it. They were waaaay off from each other. And yet, they sound the best in that amp bar none. Go figger.

I run mine in the Edana at 35ma and 36ma in Little Jimi (Holland) amp.

The current draw for the tube heaters is 1.3A as opposed to 0.9A for a 5881 or 6L6.

Make sure you use a high wattage grid resistor to avoid burning up...

Those are some expensive tubes, from what I gather and from what I saw on Ebay. Nice score, the original tube of that British blues "Milkshake" tone

Wonder why someone tried to scratch off the Brimar graphic? Did Brimar make gray glass KT-66's? The only ones I've heard of are all Genalex, but I guess one could be Brimar. If it is, no problem. I can live with it being something different. The tubes tested very strong on two different machines.

For those who don't already know, the Cherry Edana is already running on GT KT-66's. Won't need to do anything but check and possibly adjust bias.

Stratman - Here's a pic. I'm a proud owner of Edana #8 as far as I know. ;)

biasing up the kt66, what is the plate voltage?

I'm out of town, so I don't have those numbers in front of me. It's hot though.

And, yes, Gr8, you have 008.
