Just ordered a Roland Micro Cube!

After Lew's gleaming endorsement, how could I not. Really, for $96 shipped I could not refuse. I'm gonna be going in for hip replacement in January and this little puppy will be by my side while I rest between PT sessions. Perfect for my upcoming situation. Went online and heard the demos, no brainer for it's intended use. Will give you my update (if you care) when I get her.

Peace,

Darrin

Cool! I think you will really be impressed. I was really interested in the one with (4)-4" speakers. It sounded really good. I definitely want to hear how you like it.

You can't go wrong with it. I was just playing mine late tonight

You'll love it Darrin. Hopefully it'll help you take your mind off of the surgery while you're healing. Keep us posted on that - let us know when you're actually going in for the surgery so we can send you you some light. Thanks! Lew

Re: Just ordered a Roland Micro Cube!

I'v bought quite a few things that were total crap over the years but the Microcube is one thing I'm very happy with. I got mine without hearing it when they'd only just become available. From what I've been reading it sounds like they've got better speakers these days. I also have a Fender Frontline practice amp and there is absolutely no comparison. The Microcube is a lot of magic for very little money.

I have that one and use it daily to teach my afternoon music classes. One of the best ~ $230 I ever spent.

I love mine. They are really awesome for what they are. The batteries last forever and you get a really cool metal sound from them. I've actually put a mic on mine and played live through a PA with it and it slayed. The one drawback in my opinion is that they crap out when you crank them. At low volumes though, they rule. I have a Cube 60 as well and it rules too. Same sound, just in a bigger box.

Yes, this also was one of many reasons for the purchase, I teach out of my house. I use a Carr Mercury and my students use my Fender Tweed Bassman RI (only two amps I own). Unfortunately the living room is the easiest place for me to teach, so the wife will be happy getting the Bassman out. I also think my students will enjoy the quick switch of tones. I think it will motivate them, hearing what they can sound like using various models. Looking forward to it.

Peace,

Darrin
