....Feels like I took a big beautiful weekend, and blew it shopping for pickups! :smack: This decision was almost as hard as shopping for a digital camera! :yell:
And the winner: Gibson Tony Iommi Signatures for my Epi LP. If they are going to sound darker than in an SG, so be it. They don't take a battery, look cool, dont have some name-brand advertising on the front. Information overload is a problem for pickups, and a lot of the nuances that people try to describe between pickups are negated by amp (of course), and simple things like changing strumming position 1/2"....the list goes on.
The pickups cost more than most, but this was not really an issue. I would have gone for Bill Lawrences.
I got the chrome cover ones for less than $99 each...funny thing is, 30 minutes later, the linky only shows the more expensive black-chrome option. Maybe I got the last two?!
