just ordered the marshall jubilee

this would be my fourth marshall head to add to my collection.

i never thought marshall would re-issue this model. i searched the used market for years and quite a few were going for more than $3000-4000. i could just never get the right one (stock, 100W head and very good condition) at the right price. the reissue has easy access for biasing and doesn't have the rotary switches for speaker resistance and mains voltage. not sure how world-touring rock stars would deal with the lack of voltage selection. anyhow i'm tickled marshall made the right decision to re-issue the amp.

i'm sure this one will be the most played amp i have.

i read the recent thread comparing the different marshalls and there definitely are tonal differences with each model. the speaker and cabinet type makes a big difference. the jube cab comes with the celestion vintage speakers-which is a great match.

next is the 1959HW. maybe in 5 years.

If it's anything like the old ones, you're in for a treat!

You must have a borked used market. Here you can find atleast 2 or 3 jubs every week for sale for 1500-1700 euro. 4k is insane even at US prices.

Congrats, don't mess with the generic and just stick to the best! Marshall

Re: just ordered the marshall jubilee

Jubilees are so beautiful, especially when they're brand new outta the box. And you can get some of the best Marshall tones out of them at more reasonable volumes than many other 100W amps.

Every once in awhile, Dankstar comes over and he really bonds with my Jubilee 50W stack.
Last week, we were seeing which OD takes the Jubilee over the top the best. We tried the MXR Classic OD, Zakk Wylde, and Boss Super OD. They all sounded great, but I think the Zakk Wylde OD won the shootout. With the Jubilee, you don't really need an expensive OD that works great on clean amps. Stuff like MXR, Boss, Ibanez TS.....they suit Jubilee's gain structure very well, just as they did back in the 80's.

Re: just ordered the marshall jubilee

No joke, it's a sick amp! We got into some great old anthrax territory with the ODs.
