Finally, the new pups i ordered are in my Gibson LP custom now...
A DD bridge and a '59 neck (gold covers)
First impressions;
I LOVE the Distortion bridge already, nice phat naturally compressed sound that sounds fantastic with high gain on rhythm playing and solo's. Harmonics leaping out of my guitar.So much better then the Gibson '57 classic that was in it :laugh2: . It does have a lot of feedback when i stand too close to my amp (dsl100) though. More even than the x2n in my ibanez. Clean sound sucks, but thats what i expected.
The '59 neck? Very clear sounding and articulate, just what i was looking for. I do think that it sounds a little shrill though, but coming from a Gibson '57 classic that sounds kinda muddy and bass-heavy i might just need to tweak my amps eq and ge-7...
I'ts wired in the spin-a-split mode, very cool i can get near the Gilmour tones with the tone rolled back, and just beef it up little by little.
But i only tried it for about an hour now, so it's time i play some more.... :headbang:
