Hey on my website, JforJason.com , the first song called "No Good" was recorded using a LP copy fitted with custom shop PU's first a "Slash" alnico 2 neck PU and a EVH 78' in the bridge both with chrome covers and engraved with my initial "J" by Seymour himself (I Think.) I think I did a preety good job but wanted to ask anyone here with an ear for recorded electric guitars in case there are any tips they can offer. thank for your help. :friday: I basically go back and forth between the two and never use the middle position. :thanks:

I think on your more dance oriented songs, if you do a guitar solo, it would sound better on a strat or bridge humbucker, and avoid blues licks. Make it more wild, off the cuff, and maybe used as an effect. This is where effected solos make sense.

Since you're also Latin influenced, the songs that lean more toward Latin rhythms lend themselves to the Santana neck humbucker blues vibe more. And on softer Latin type songs, a nylon string acoustic can be a nice touch for solos.

Sounds like you're on the right track though. Your style of music doesn't always call for guitar heroics, so using the right feel and sound is vital......as well as keeping them short and concise.

THANKS MAN! Yea I'll try to stay away from blues licks on the dance songs, when you say make it wild and off the cuff do you mean as far as approach or scales being used, or both? I'm sure you just mean, "get creative" but wanted to ask in case you had some ideas . Thanks again for listening! :notworthy

I dig it. The vocals aren't my style, but instrumentals were more like my style.
