Re: Just set up my looping rig...
I like the GI-10, and currently no expansion boards in the XV. I program many of my own sounds though, and record with many softsynths too, like Omnisphere, M-tron & more. Most of the synth sounds actually fade in, and the music is usually pretty slow with loops evolving over time, or bouncing against each other. Any faster playing is usually just regular guitar- and I pick very cleanly, so it has no problem keeping up. I considered switching to a Triple Play, but I already have an internal piezo 13 pin system, and the Triple Play needs a USB/MIDI converter to use with hardware (extra $100). I haven't yet tried the VG-99 in this rig yet (I don't like the sound sets in the GRs), and prices are still high for such older technology, so I still might, but it isn't a high priority. In the future, I will add another processor for the piezo acoustic sound, and I may buy another Echoplex until the Evoloop is released. The setup is configured for improvisation when playing live, so it is more about possibilities than recreating set tunes.
