I had some stock pups from the Agile that had ceramic magnets in them. They've been sitting in a drawer for a long time. I took out the magnets today, and since I haven't been happy with my JB, I swapped them.
The ceramic mags were actually a bit shorter than the magnet in the JB, but I didn't care. Also, I know that the JB with a ceramic mag is basically a DD. The sound is beefier now and it's smoother under gain. Palm mutes are also much better. Overall, it's less shrill and kicks more ass.
Now, if I bought a real DD, there'd be a bigger magnet, so it'd be even beefier, right?
Also, I'm not too satisfied with the C5 in my LP anymore. I have another ceramic mag. Do you suggest I turn it into a Custom?
