kcrknp's NGD

I haven't bought a guitar in about 7 years, but I finally convinced my fiancee that we've saved enough for me to get myself a birthday present. I went to my local Sam Ash today intending to try out some Les Paul style guitars and some shred sticks. I didn't intend to walk out with anything. I tried out a Charvel Desolation, a couple PRS SE's and a Gibson SGJ. After being quite underwhelmed I decided to check out the Teles. Not really my thing, I've always considered myself a humbucker player. Needless to say 10 minutes later I walked out with a MIM Paisley Telecaster. Sounds beautiful and resonant, intonation is good all the way up. It kills my Epiphone Les Paul. Really changed my mind about Fenders and bolt-ons.

The stock pickups sound quite nice but I need some Duncans. I'm considering a hot Tele Lead Stack for the bridge.

Re: kcrknp's NGD

I used to swear I was a strat guy and once I owned a parts tele that didn't impress me so I thought I just didn't like telecasters. I was wrong; my tele is my favorite guitar I own and I use that for everything, but country so I can understand the surprise you had with your MIM. It looks great and I'm sure it sounds great as well :)

Thanks everyone, I've really been enjoying it. Some clips will be posted in the future, when I have time to record some stuff.
