is the Keeley that much better than the Reissue?

I loved it when I tried it, but I don't know if I want to spend the money for nothing.

Oh yea, it's that much better than stock.

That funky mid is removed and the high end is much clearer.

It would be well worth it if the mod increases bass response. The TS9 just sucks away too much low end.

IMO anything is better than a stock TS. I just don't like 'em. I'm more of a SD-1 player. Works better for me, or the Wylde Overdrive.

I owned both....

It's hard to describe but the Keeley, to my ears, is just "more" of what I was looking for in a Tube Screamer; little smoother, little more drive.

When it came down to keeping one I hung onto the Keeley and unloaded the stock TS-9 Reissue.

John also does a furious and fantastic mod. The work he did to my TS9DX made it a serious "desert island" pedal for me.

I would say that 95% of new stock TS pedals just don't sound that good...however sending them to be modded really helps. Keeley and Analog man are the big guys but John also does some killer pedal mods!

What kind if tone are you looking for?

John, How would you compare the Sparkle drive by comparison the your Mod of a TS9? I really love bith my stock and the TS9 tou did for me. (sorry didn't mean to hijack here)

The SD has that cool clean knob that allows you to blend the overdrive and the clean together....The SD is more open sounding,has more tonal dimension and is less compressed at higher gain settings...To me,it's just a better TS clone...This pedal sounds quite a bit better to me than the modded TS9/808..I don't own one,but I've thought about it and selling my modded 808 reissue..

Appreciate the nice responses guys! I'm pretty busy doing alot of different things and haven't done any pedals lately....The pedal thing is up and down,as is life! :smack: :laugh2:
