Keep my JB/SH-4 in bridge /59 neck w/used 2006 Schecter Blackjack or Black Winter?

It seems I have run into too much background noise/freaky wild noises (muddiness?) from my sh-4's on the far right setting on the five-way selector switch. Black Winters seem pretty amazing, and I wondered if they'd be better for that Metallica AJFA tone or the Duncan Invaders?

P.S. I want to push the AJFA tone to be even more roaring.

The invader could work. As far as background noise and feedback, that is probably a job for a noise gate.

In my experience, it's not a very tonally aggressive pickup- it seems like it's somewhat smooth in character but it hits like a freakin' wrecking ball. That could be exactly what you want, depending on the amp you use. I can see it working well with a very gnarly sounding amp like a JCM-800.
