Kinky

Damnnit' this sounds absolutely nothing like Van Halen!
Love the mix!
One of these days I'll get something recorded this good.
However long it takes.

I've always really liked your drumming -- that little fill is killer. I also dig the lead at the end, especially the syrupy yet clear tone. The main riff has a really fun, joyful type of vibe that I enjoyed a lot. Good stuff!

lol...thanks, man. Get you a recording setup and have at it!! :)

Thank you, I really appreciate that!! I don't do my drums anymore like I did. I used to play them in real time on my Boss DR-770. I'd just tap the pads like I was behind a drum kit...lol. Now I just take wav samples of drum tones that I've eq'd, and tuned, and I place them on the grid exactly where I want them. It's definitely made my tuff a lot tighter since it is all in perfect time now.

Speaking of The Kinks, I can’t believe what I’m reading online and hearing from YouTubers… they actually think You Really Got Me and All Day and All Of the Night are the same song! Literally, not similar but they think the latter is an alternative title to the former! What??
The two songs might combine pretty well, though. 'You Really Got All Of The Night.'

I always kinda wanted to blend Baby You Can Drive My Car with Crosstown Traffic.
But it's been decades since I was in a band that did covers.
My casual jam project did Red by King Crimson one day last year, though. That was fun.

Oh wow -- I remember those days! Everyone used to be really surprised you were playing the parts by hand. I really enjoy triggering my drum samples with a midi controller, then using quantization and adjusting where necessary. Have you tried that, or do you just mouse click them into the grid? Cheers!

I haven't tried it like you're doing it. I just basically copy and paste where I want everything on the grid. I've pretty much gotten the knack for doing it that way now, and it really doesn't take me too long to do it.

Gotcha. Well in any case it sounds great, so I suppose if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
