This isn't me...I wish it was me

This is the Komet Concorde which is their newest amp, and it's a 50watt EL34 head with a solid state rectifier...as opposed to the Komet 60 which is also EL34 but unlike the Concorde can also take other tubes like 6L6's and has a tube rectifier.

My Komet sounds nothing like this...NOTHING AT ALL...so I'm convinced there is still something very very wrong with it :yell:

I dunno, my Komet clone sounds like that. I'm guessing that amp is essentially an Express - of which the Komet is basically a clone with higher voltages, tube rectifier, and slightly brighter voicing.

No reason that amp can't take 6L6s too. The whole Twreck/Komet topic is so full of disinformation it ain't funny.

I never would of thought when I was a kid starting to play that I should have listened to my Mum and stopped rockin' and gone to law school. That would have been the only way I could ever afford these amps. I know their great build quality etc. but it bums me out when a business plan for such a killer amp is to inflate a figure for the niche of doctors, lawyers and business people who can barely play or if they can play will never actually be on stage or in a studio. They'll be on message boards asking what $400 pedals they can use so they can play this monster at home and actually get overdrive. After a few months they'll trade or sell it for the next mecca of tone in a box. It breaks my heart. Am I jealous, heck yeah. It's the first time I've heard or seen an amp online where it perfectly fit the tone in my head. :crying:

Peavey needs to clone/steal this...and quick :fingersx:

Yeah I guess I don't need to pay HOA dues, property taxes, phone bill, car payment, credit card payments, band rent, strings etc., promotional flyers, shirts for same band, food and of course fresh socks from time to time. Like I said before. Doctors and lawyers buy this stuff. I don't begrudge the doctors and lawyers, it's their money, they can do what they want with it. But at $3800 it is in no way even the remotest fantasy for most musicians to ever be able to afford it. As amazing as the amp sounds I can't look at a 6? knob guitar amplifier and see $3800 of value. Not when I could get an SG, an early 70's SL, a Fender bassman reissue, AB Box.....and a telecaster for the same money. I know on these message boards we like to talk about the pricey stuff like it's an option (especially on HC, those guys crack me up) but for the vast majority of us players out here it 'aint.


....and I'll get over the tragic loss of my mecca of tone :bowdown: : :headbang:

That dude is on TGP

He seems really nice. He is a pro and has toured. If you look, there are a couple of more clips on there that are just as impressive. You might really like the Strat clean version quite a lot.

His feel and phrasing are fantastic. Nice to hear some good riffy, rock playing that wasn't just smooth, neck pickup shredding. It was part of what led me down my rocky road of GAS vs. no money!! :dance:
