Hi Everyone,

Im new here, I just picked up this neon beauty. Im considering putting a JB in the bridge, but im not sure what to put in the Mid and Neck positions. I thought about the YJM's but im looking for suggestions. Also, if anyone has one of these or a model similar do you happen to have a wiring diagram for it? This has a Tap toggle switch that ive never worked with before. I know that it will either tap the HB or run it in parallel.

I plan on installing a 1984 Original Floyd and replacing the tuners as well.

what kind of FR does it have in there now?

go with a regular JB SH-4 in the bridge. that toggle is to switch the bridge from series/split/parallel. you can find a schematic for that switch on the SD site.

the APS or maybe the SSL would be appropriate for what they put in the Pacer Custom that is based on. flat or staggered pole pieces, it's up to you. for a noiseless option, I'd go with the STK-S4 in the middle and neck...which you can also connect to that toggle for tonal options.

BNG - Welcome!

I happen to be in the process of putting a Big Hair 80's metal band together. That would be perfect.

Listen to me on this…seriously. I had a Striker version of that. Trust me here:

Neck & Middle: DiMarzio Choppers
Bridge: DiMarzio X2N with the switch doing series/Parallel/Split

However - can't argue with JB as an obvious answer either!
A custom Custom would be an excellent choice also

I really want to make a skittles joke right now...

In all seriousness... Pure hair metal, The slanted pickup in the Kramer... :headbang:

Gad I had a red Kramer almost just like that. The damn floyd Rose bar wiggled on the thing. The neck was awesome and the singles were great. I would shove a Duncan JB in that thing as thats what most people did with those guitars. I think mine was called a Focus 6000? somthing like that. Ya, great guitar for those midrange rocker tones. You can easily get those tones with that guitar.

Both guitars are pretty snazzy. I do like the pink Kramer, I had a chance to buy one once but when I went back 'twas gone. :gurmpy:
