Same with Christian from Fear Factory. He tried a Krankenstein out at NAMM and was sold right there. He was also a Marshall user.

Hmmmm, maybe it's a sign. I played a Krank Revolution not too long ago and was pretty impressed. Sounded like a JCM with a bit of Boogie bubbly and that sucker was LOUD!

You know I didn't like Randalls much.....so I could see Dime going to Krank. Though when you got guys giving up thier Marshalls makes you wonder! Krank is hooking them up.

It might be due to availability of endorsement. I can't imagine a Marshall endorsement being easy to come by what with them being an established company. I'm sure some artists like Zakk Wylde and Slash get priority over the others as far as what they get from the deal. With Krank being a fairly new company, they can offer the most to whoever happens upon them, especially since their #1 endorser just died.

The artist deal is cost. The companies still make the same, whether they sell 5 amps to dealers or 5 amps to endorsees. Krank may have had a rough start with the whole harmony-central review disaster, but when bands start using them, they'll catch on.
I've played a Revolution 100. For metal, it's a brutal sounding amp with a very good clean channel. They'll sell.

Man, I haven't been much excited about a metal band since Metallica. Shadows Fall does indeed rawk!

Did Dime ever use these Randall X2's? I know they were advertised as Dime amps in guitar magazines, but I never saw them on his backline. Then he did the Krank thing and I got a little confused. And yeah, I know endorsing equipment is totally differant than actually using equipment, but I just wondered if Dime actually ever used the X2's.

I believe what you're hearing on the Damageplan's New Found Power album is an X2. IIRC, he used the Dime Distortion into the clean channel for a lot of the grungier tones.

Krank does seem to be taking off pretty well. I'm getting rather curious about them, as Christian from FF, Shadows Fall, and Dimebag have totally different tones.

I think i read in one of the guitar mags that dime used krank amps since the start of damageplan, i played the chadwick at summer namm, and it just straight rocked, i have a dual rec. and would trade in a heartbeat!

i wouldnt worry what people at harmony central thing. i like the krank sound clips for the chadwick and the revolution. i really like their cabinets too.

Nope, but rumor has it that Dime used Krank and Deans on the material they recorded before his passing. Im willing to bet that it's going to come out in a year or two....Dime would want us to hear it. Imagine Zakk finishing up some things on there.

Wow. So Randall just decided to make an amp Dime would probably use, in some fantasy world? Or did Dime actually help design the X2?

I mean, you know, for a solid state it sounds like it would pretty cool.

As for Zakk playing on Dime's unreleased stuff...that's pretty effin' awesome.

I can't believe Krank has taken off so much.. I have the urge to check out the amp for myself! If Shadows Fall is giving up their Marshall crunch for Krank.... they must be good.
