KT77 vs 6V6 vs E34Ls

Yes its me again and my power tube ignorance. Firt off, I remember reading here that allthough KT77s and EL34 use the same sockets there could be potentially problems depending on the design of the EL34 original amp when KT77 are put in? How do I know if Laney AOR series I is not such an amp? Is it the same story for 6V6s when put into an originally EL34 amp?

And of course what is the difference of overall, tonal qualities between the three, thanks.

As I understand it, most of the time you can put KT-77's in an amp designed for EL-34's. They bias to the same value without changing any resistors.

From www.dougstubes.com
I finally got a chance to really listen to this new tube from JJ Electronics and really like it. For the most part these will bias up like the EL34/6CA7, but looks like around 10% of them have high enough natural current draw to replace a 6L6 or 6550(Check with your amp tech). Expect to hear crystal clear 3-D cleans, extended lows and highs, and very thick articulate breakup.

It should be fine for an AOR. I think some guy at laneyforum.com has his AOR with KT-77s. He posted some clips and they seem to improve the overall thickness and girth of the amp.

ARGHH CRAP!!! You were right man, unfortunately that clip came out after I bought the set from JJs. I think KT77 is pretty much it for me by this clip, of course G-Flex cab helps alot. I finally figured out how to bring what I was looking for out of E34Ls, yes the bass is tighter, but I am missing just a bit of that EL34 attitude and I think KT77s are where its at. Here is the clip. BTW its a Pro-Tube not an AOR Pro-tube so with AOR to get that kind of gain you would prolly go only half way as much on the pre-amp as AORs have one more extra gain than pro-tubes.
