La Brea pickup wiring

Welcome to the forum!

Look on the bottom of the neck pickup. See which lead is soldered to the cover. That's the ground. Or look at the diagram if you got them new.

The neck pickup has black and white wires and the diagram shows black and white for both pickups but the bridge has blue and yellow. That's why I'm not sure. And thanks! Glad to be here. Big fan of Seymour Duncan

I would guess that yellow is hot and white is hot. Try that but don't cut the wires.

In Strats the white wire is hot. In old Teles that hot white wire is more of a white/yellow color.

This is a pretty new pickup set for sale, so we haven't yet gotten a lot of questions (or collected a lot of info) about this set. You should be able to just do some testing to figure it out, but I am surprised it didn't come with a diagram. If you figure it out, please post the info in this thread as it might help someone.

which wire is grounded to the base plate? thats your ground wire. from the pics ive seen, yellow is hot and blue is ground

Sorry the the delay. The yellow ended up being the hot like some of you suggested. I wired it to a 4 way switch. I love the way these pickups sound. Great amount of snap and pop like a tele should sound but also can handle distortion without sounding too thin. I'm really happy with these. Thanks guys for all of your help.

I am happy they are working for you! Can you compare them to any other Tele pickups you know well?
