Lace Sensor Gold/Silver = X Seymour Duncan Hum Cancelling???

Hey fellow tone junkies,

I enjoy the tone of my Lace Sensor Gold Neck, Silver Middle, but, I want the neck a little Bigger, Fatter, and Brighter. What SD HUM CANCELING pickups are close? The middle I'm not as concerned with but, I love how I switch to the neck and middle possition now, and it has a Robert Cray sort-of strat sound; glassy and clean. I was thinking The stk-s7 (Vintage Hot Stack) Neck, and stk-s4m (Classic Stack) Middle... And then a JB in the bridge that auto splits.

welcome to the forum!

the gold would be closer to the classic stack and the silver might be closer to the vintage hot.

Re: Lace Sensor Gold/Silver = X Seymour Duncan Hum Cancelling???

it's hard to imagine a decent hum canceling pickup which is brighter than a Lace Gold...

How about FilterTrons?

Plenty of stacked single coils have more presence. I suspect you are talking about bass/treble balance though, and for that, well, I find most of the Laces both a bit dull and lacking compared to the better SCs, and lacking what I like about a good side by side humbucker as well...

There are some guitarists who pull amazing tones out of them, though.

the gold is just a bright (more treble/low bass/medium midrange) non-vintage sounding strat-style single coil pup. it can't be compared with side by side humbuckers, p90s, filtertrons, etc. if you like modern low-output strat sounds, it's a nice pickup. if you're looking for vintage tone or hot output you should check something different.
